Anna Wong
Anna Wong currently practises civil litigation at Landy Marr Kats LLP, where her
advocacy skills are put to use in representing individual and corporate clients.
Prior to joining Landy Marr Kats LLP, Anna was a judicial law clerk with the
Ontario Superior Court of Justice. Working closely with several judges over the
course of a year, Anna was involved in various proceedings in all areas of the
Court's jurisdiction, including civil, administrative, criminal and family.
Judges are concerned with the potential reach of their decisions beyond the
immediate litigants and regularly called upon Anna to consider the wide-ranging
ramifications of a certain outcome and to provide integrated legal and policy
advice.
Anna is keenly interested in equality and access to justice issues, particularly
as they relate to women, children and racialised groups. She holds a B.A.
(Hons.) in Women's Studies and Media, Information and Technoculture; a M.A. in
Media Studies; and a J.D. from Queen's University. Prior to entering law, Anna
worked as a news reporter for Fairchild Television, a Chinese-Canadian network.
While at law school, Anna was a Pro Bono radio volunteer, a law-school tutor,
and an editor for Queen's Law Journal. She also volunteered as a caseworker for
Queen's Legal Aid Clinic, a position that heightened her sensitivity to the
concerns and services gaps encountered by the socio-economically disadvantaged.
In addition to her role at the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers, she is a
volunteer lawyer with the Child Advocacy Project, and a member of the Women's
Legal Education and Action Fund.
