LSUC Articling Task Force Comments. Submit Your Comment to FACL.
As you may be aware, the LSUC has established an Articling Task Force to address concerns about the articling program, relating in particular to the growing number of unplaced candidates (http://www.lsuc.org/articling-task-force). The Task Force has released its Consultation Report (http://www.lsuc.on.ca/articling-task-force-consultation-report) outlining five options to address these issues: (1) maintaining the status quo; (2) maintaining the status quo with quality assurance improvements; (3) replacing the pre-licensing transition requirement with a post-licensing transition requirement; (4) either an articling requirement or a practical legal training course requirement; or (5) only a practical legal training course requirement. FACL is soliciting comments from its members with a view to making submissions and providing feedback to the Task Force on behalf of the organization, and possibly in concert with other equity-seeking groups. Please e-mail your comments to advocacy@facl.ca by February 20, 2012.
