TORONTO LAWYERS ASSOCIATION CLE “CURRENT TOPICS IN ETHICS AND PROFESSIONALISM” SEPTEMBER 14, 2011

The TLA is hosting a CLE on Current Topics in Ethics and Professionalism.  It has been CPD Accredited for 3 hours toward the annual Professionalism Hours or  3 hours toward the New Member Requirement.  The notice is enclosed, along with the TLA membership form. POVERTY LAW, ACCESS TO JUSTICE AND ETHICAL LAWYERING CONFERENCE SEPTEMBER 23, 2011 – STUDENTS MAY APPLY FOR TRAVEL SUBSIDIES!

This conference held as the Osgoode Hall Law School is to be held on September 23, 2011! 

Are you interested in social justice and clinical legal education? Have you benefited from participating in a legal clinic as part of your law school education? Are you thinking about a career in the legal clinic sector?

If so, consider attending the Poverty Law, Access to Justice and Ethical Lawyering Conference, which will be held on 23 September 2011 at the Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto.

A limited number of travel subsidies for up to $500 are available for law students from outside the Greater Toronto Area. 

To apply for travel subsidies, please send an email with the subject line “Student Subsidy” to clinedat40@osgoode.yorku.ca. 

In the email please include:  

(1)    Your contact information, including mailing address; 

(2)    The name of the law school where you are a student, and your year (e.g. 1st, 2nd, 3rd, LLM, PHD);

(3)   A brief (maximum 250 words) explanation for why you would like to attend the conference.

DiverseCity Fellows is an engaging one year leadership development program for rising city-builders who are deeply committed to enhancing their leadership abilities and working collaboratively with partners across different sectors to address tough issues facing the Toronto region.

Each year, DiverseCity Fellows brings together twenty-five emerging leaders to broaden their civic networks, deepen their awareness of issues facing the region and strengthen their capacity to lead change.

The Fellows program is a unique opportunity for feedback-rich, action-oriented learning. Fellows hear from influencers across the region, participate in interactive sessions, get matched with mentors, and work with a multi-sectoral team to develop and implement city-building projects.
