Otto completed high school at the Upper Canada College in Toronto, followed by an Honours Bachelor of Science degree at The University of Toronto with a particular focus in Drug Pharmacology and Medical Sciences.

He started Law school at L'Universite de Sherbrooke in French immersion towards the Quebec Bar, and completed a second Law degree in British Columbia at the University of Victoria, with a concentration in Trial Advocacy, Evidence, and Criminal law.

With strong grades in Criminal Law, Otto pursued this as a career starting with his Articles at one of Canada's largest Criminal law firms. Shortly after admission to the Bar of Ontario in 2003, Otto immediately opened a private practice at the Sheraton Hotel in Toronto.
