Paul Saguil

Paul Jonathan Saguil practices litigation and has appeared before all levels of courts in Ontario, the Federal Court, and various administrative tribunals, including the Ontario Securities Commission, the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario, and the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario. His experience and interests include regulatory and professional discipline matters, appeals and applications for judicial review, and civil and commercial proceedings.

He received an Hons. B.A. (Philosophy) from York University in 2004 and his LL.B. from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2007, where he was awarded the Dean’s Gold Key. He served as a clerk to the Honourable Justice Phelan of the Federal Court before being called to the Ontario bar in 2008. He has published academic articles in peer-reviewed journals on the subject of legal ethics and wrongful conviction review, and is a co-contributor of the chapter “The Authorized Provision of Legal Services by Non-Lawyers” in Canadian Legal Practice (a loose-leaf publication).

He is a member of the Advocates’ Society and the Canadian/Ontario Bar Association, a Board member of the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers, and a volunteer lawyer with Pro Bono Law Ontario. He is also the Team Advisor to Osgoode’s Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot team.
