Mission Statement We are a diverse coalition of Asian Canadian legal professionals. We promote equity, justice, and opportunity for Asian Canadian legal professionals and the community. We foster advocacy, community involvement, legal scholarship and professional development. FACL is a not-for-profit organization working closely with other Asian Canadian associations and community organizations. It is affiliated with the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA).	Message From The President Thank you for visiting the website of the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers (“FACL”). In 2007, FACL was founded in Toronto by a small group of Asian Canadian legal professionals. Our founding members were united by a common interest in promoting equity, justice and opportunity for Asian Canadians in both the legal profession and the wider community. Our founding members also recognized the need to cultivate and advance advocacy, community involvement, and professional development by Asian Canadian legal professionals. Read January 2012 NewsLetter FACL Omatsu Scholarship Established FACL has proudly established the Omatsu FACL Scholarship. One award in the amount of $1,000 or two awards of $500 will be awarded in 2012 to a law student/students who demonstrate leadership and community involvement, vision, academic ability, and financial need. Please complete the 2011/2012 Application Form and submit by email to facl.ontario@facl.ca by no later than February 1, 2012. FACL Awards Launched to Celebrate FACL's 5th Anniversary FACL is proud to launch the FACL Awards to recognize significant and longstanding contributions of Asian-Canadian legal professionals in Ontario, Quebec and British Columbia. The FACL Awards, which will be presented in April 2012 at the FACL Gala, are as follows: 1. FACL Lifetime Achievement Award 2. FACL Lawyer of Distinction Award 3.
